    Why bother interviewing footballers?

Because you will only get a permutation of the below quotes:

We always knew it was going to be a hard game
The most important thing was getting the three points
    Err
We are only thinking of the next game
    It's the result that matters
    Obviously
    Err
They are a tough side to play against
Just glad we managed to get the three points
    Obviously
    Err
I just managed to get my head to it
    Err
    Obviously
We are taking one game at a time
Hopefully we will come away with the three points
    Err

A waste of airtime if you ask me.

Players are already briefed on what to say.

You've only got to look on any clubs twitter page after a game, it's all spin and the same old stuff, thanks for your support, a great win, we didn't deserve to lose etc.

Newcy, I TOTALLY agree with you. In fact I no longer waste my time clicking on any E&S link that involves a footballer giving his view.

A few more "err"'s, "um"'s and "yeah definitely"'s and you're bang on Newcy!

    "Yeah definitely"

How could I forget that one?

The phrase created by Chelsea "mates" John Terry and Frank Lampard.

I think they now try to say "Look..." as much as possible to add to the ever present "You know...". And the expression "Worked his socks off" is a must.
