Misheard pop tune Lyrics.

There are websites/ blogs dedicated to this subject but I'm only interested in my own and other posters experiences.

Only today I heard, again, the great Dobie Gray and "Drift Away". It reminded me that I always thought that one line said "gimme The Beach Boys and free my soul" when in actuallity it was "gimme the beat boys'.

I can never understand why this track, great as it is is played so often and the classic, for me, "The In Crowd" never gets a look in. Here in the US anyway. [attached].

When I was looking on youtube for "The In Crowd" I stumbled on this great great version by Ramsey Lewis which I had forgotten about. What I like about this clip is the diner that is shown is one I have eaten in so many times after wild nights in Manhattan in the 80s ad 90s. Very special.

The other mishear [?] was Johnny Rivers and "Secret Agent Man", always thought is was "Secret Asian Man". Silly bugger really.

None particularly humorous but one that stuck out for me was Get It On by T Rex.

I always thought it was "Get it on, then your gone, get it on" which makes no sense at all, instead of the real lyric, "Get it on, bang the gong, get it on." Which also makes little sense.

Being a big Nirvana fan there are probably too many to list, Kurt Cobain had a wonderful habit of sounding almost incoherent on a regular basis.
