Yesterday was a prime example when a couple of supporters were getting hammered by Giddins I think it was.
Stewart has done some great things for Rotherham including risking a lot of money but he is not above criticism and recently has said a few things that are difficult to believe at face value but of course may well be true eg the Bogle saga, same budget as Huddersfield, shopping in Harrods or similar, don't need the money and so on...
It's ridiculous that when someone phones up to express his doubts he is then subject to repeated comments highlighting that his call may be slanderous.
The point of the call was obvious and not a personal attack on Stewart,it was saying what I have said above but maybe not expressed in the best way.
As listeners we want callers to be allowed to express their views not being ridiculed by presenters.
As for Tony he should stop ramping up the club with his outlandish comments such as Harrods,Premiership and so on and he should give supporters more reliable and unambiguous information eg why did 3 managers walk away..outline the individual reasons, how much of the £35 million was mortgage and your loans to the club..is the answer £35 million or did you actually gift any money as some seem to believe?
If Bogle didn't want to come or if Wigan simply offered more money then just say so rather than outline a story that turns it all into a complete mystery.
All this for and against Stewart is getting out of hand but is fuelled by how the club relates to the fans at times.
I am sure that those fans phoning about Stewart love him and respect him as we all do but just want a few straight answers to some of their questions and we can then get on and prepare for next seasons promotion push.
The club need to bring the supporters with them and reassure those that are wavering not say when asked about leavers "it's up to them"
Rotherham supporters work hard for their money and it is a big sacrifice for many to pay out to watch their team and I urge both the club and Radio Sheffield to treat them with respect.
