I watched Lenihan closely today, and it struck me that his positional play from set pieces and crosses is a bit naive. He was often not in a position to attack the high ball. You really need your centre-backs to get that first touch. His general play is fine, but that aspect of his game definitely needs work. In contrast, Greer's problem is a lack of pace, but we already knew that. (One question, though. Where were they both when United equalized?)
I suspect our first-choice pairing this season would have been Ward and Hoban, but injuries have made that impossible.
Incidentally, I thought that both Lowe and Williams did ok, considering what they were facing.
As I said on the other thread, it's hard to know why we are the bottom. A lack of confidence, more than anything else, probably.
The Burton game is growing and growing in importance. If we DO win there, that might launch a recovery. Lose...and things will look very bleak.
