Not yet he's appealing
Banned from football for 18 months after admitting a Football Association charge in relation to betting.
That's the last we'll see of him!
Not yet he's appealing
:d:d:d
Barton: 'I accept that I broke the rules but I do feel the penalty is heavier than it might be for less controversial players'
He might have a point there, Remember Broadfoot receiving a ban (yes I know that was different but how many others receive bans like that?)
But "gambling" is associated with match fixing.....nobody is accusing him of that but they're cracking the whip about it!
UEFA don't want others fraudulent activities to get in the way of their own...lol
Barton knew what the rules were and he broke them with his eyes wide open.
The length of the ban does seem disproportionate though and I think he's probably right to appeal.
When you think Ronnie Moore got 2k fine and a months ban it does seem overly harsh. though he's been breaking footy rules for the past 15 years. He who laughs last I'm guessing
