Ball's future may be better elsewhere

Dominic Ball has been bluntly told by boss Paul Warne that last season was a waste of a season for him. And added that 1st team football may mean a move away from the Millers - External Link

As said on another thread....strange one this !

Ball is young - talented - hungry ?

We all know "talented" footballers that fold wine & women that threw away their BEST years in football.

This might be the case here with Ball we don't know.....

BUT....Ball has the talent - he has the age - I think NOT putting your arm closely around a young players shoulders and coaching him into a player he wants is abdication of duty.

The guy is here - now - contracted - coach the lad into some that PW considers desirable in a player.

Saying all that - what has BALL SEEN HERE AT ROTHERHAM ?

Wilson said the "Coming to Rotherham was a culture shock"....

Well only those with extremely thick and very rose coloured glasses could perceive that statement was complementary !

    SE went secretly....
NR went prematurely citing things amiss.
NW went thanks but no thanks
AS went wtf have I got into
    KJ .....just went.....
PW went OK BOSS - CAN I PARK MY BIKE IN THE MANAGER POG THEN....!

Perhaps from Forest it was a culture shock - what kind of shock must it be coming from SPURS...?

First thing a kid needs is to respect the club / management.....but the club / management has to earn that respect...perhaps that's PART OF THE PROBLEM ?

If he was a future star spurs would have got that out of him. Maybe spurs didn't like his attitude
Maybe he thought he was billy big bowlax and better than he was.
    Maybe Peterborough manager was wrong
    Maybe warne is wrong

    That's quite a few maybes

    That's a lot of "Maybe's"

    And maybe you're right.

    The Spurs thing though....

"Spurs would have got that out of him"

NOT necessarily glass-hopper.....he came through the Spurs academy when the first team squad was immense !

So - super stars were a minimum requirement.....maybe - in other periods he would have been accepted.

But he's obviously got talent - he's contracted - sit on him and make him a player !

If we can afford Yates wages ( just in case he flowers into a non-league player )
We surely can afford Ball's wages as he is head and shoulders ( in a football sense ) above Yates.....and PW likes Yates....? ? ?

Agreed.....but at his age - where he is now - his career is in his hands.

    Having said that.....?

Under a nurturing manager who can develop a player to ever greater heights and ALLOWS him to develop....he might achieve....

But under a poor manager.....his contract could be a living nightmare....

They say "One man can't make a team"

    A good manager CAN !

From what I hear he has got a attitude problem but warne says he will try and turn him into a right back.

I don't disagree with you about developing Ball's abilities but if he really does have a bad attitude and is disruptive in the dressing room then maybe it's best if he moves elsewhere.
Let's face it, none of us know what type of character he is but some of the things that have happened don't look too promising.

Not to mention, he is hardly a good player. Attitude is fine if you have a talent - he hasn't for me and I believe the dressing room and on the field, the team will be better without him
