The choice at the last election was middle of the road Tory or a Labour party which is teetering on the edge of communism. The country chose Tory but instructed them to move towards the centre - that seems about right to me.
More cuts are needed but they need to take longer over them and think carefully about who is paying the price - but the price of the last Labour government will have to be paid - if not by us then by our children and grandchildren. Corbyn's Labour would bring 3 years of euphoria followed by 30 years of misery. A victory for the shirking classes followed by misery for the working classes. Those with money will just move it abroad leaving the rest of us poorer and without the support of the massive taxes they pay.

This is only a microcosm of life and I temper the posts as not too extremist but I worry that some of these posters exist at all ( with such thoughts ) let alone the thought that there are worse believers of such nonsense.

That's one way to look at it.

Over the years since the eighties Britain has bought its way out of recession. The very nice bankers have continuosly provided a way to give eveyone a new credit card by giving money bac or a transfer deal of a set sum.
They have also relied upon the house prices. An increase in your house value means that you could get a remortgage thus put money into the economy.
This method of mortgage and all the fiddling insurances surrounding mortgages put us in the mess we're in.

If anyone thinks that the banking crisis of 2008 isn't a major factor still then you've forgotten it. The austerity of today is caused by the bail out and the lack of revenue the treasory is getting from these institutions.

The way the law is now means that tens of billions aren't being paid in corperate taxes. The way the system works is that the debts they have can be set against this tax.

It's your money used to bail out your money and they are using that to enable themselves to build massive reserves using your money in quantitive easing. That money was there to be pumped into the economy help the finance of small businesses. As a result it would have given everyone a little bit extra.

The only way that quantitive easing could have worked is if the banks distributed it. They didn't! The banks doing what they want is killing the UK economy. Corbyn suggested in his manifesto to create a bank. That bank could have done so much good 5 years ago. It still could but the greedy b@s tard bankers have got all your money again and will not help you buy your way out of recession again!
