Genuine questions. When did Tony Stewart say we have the fourth largest budget for league 1? How do you think he could know that?
I've changed the name of the thred Brin as it seems to be going another route which is interesting. Hoe you don't mind
Let's have this meeting please so constructive questions may be asked.
The season as barely started and the evidence of a 25% win rate doesn't bode well.
We have a chairman who boasts we have the fourth largest budget for league 1 but, with the pre season recruitment I can't see where it's been spent.

Apologies to millertop as I forgot this topic had already been covered and I've started a new one.
I will answer Kerr's question though seeing how he's raised a point.
Good morning Kerr on what is another beautiful morning, trust your day's going okay so far.
The information I gleaned was via courtesy of the Radio Sheffield presenter last Saturday afternoon pre kick off.
Before they played back Paul Warne's post match interview the presenter said 'With Tony Stewart stating they had the 4th largest budget in the league......' Therefore if you wish to raise the point to Football heaven presenters, I'm sure they'll feed you the info and where and how they came to get this.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Could he be taking his figures based on last years turnovers and the fair play thingy?
I’ve had a lovely morning, thanks. I have been neglecting my allotment a little and have just picked a 12lb 4oz courgette in consequence. I hope you have had a pleasant morning too.
So the 4th largest budget thing is a bit of hearsay from Radio Sheffield presenters or possibly something from an Advertiser interview?
Anyone got any links? When was the Advertiser interview?
I live rather a long way from Rotherham and find it hard to pick up on all the news, but I have to say that this has the feel of a legend that has built up amongst supporters. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I go back to my second question, how could he know? Do all the chairmen have a ring round at the start of the season?
It’ll be November at least before the accounts for Rotherham’s last season are published.
I am also confused. Do teams have to register their budgets with the league. Does the budget include the whole season, or just the first four matches?
This has been questioned a few times.
What TS is probably referring to (if he did) was the overall wage budget for the season. No reason to believe or disbelieve that if you look at our probable income this season. Some of this will have been brought forward to pay off Blackstock.
You can't look at what capital amounts have been spent, or been allocated to spend, on acquiring players. They will become assets on the balance sheet, if they are worth anything.
Can I please clarify this once and for all.?Tony Stewart's interview was for the July edition of Budgerigar World Magazine. Tony is a breeder and actually said that he had one of the top four budgies in Class One.
Perhaps people need to ask Tony Stewart why he chooses to make these sort of statements.
If the club ever get round to holding the Fans' Forum that they promised, I'm sure someone will ask him.
After all, he once said we were in the Championship to compete and would be in the Premier League within 5 years 😕
