Pope 8 - MOTM. Tough place for full Premier League debut, but stood up brilliantly
Lowton 7 - Tough job picking Coutinho, but stuck to his task and was solid as usual
Tarkowski 7 - Looks increasingly assured at heart of defence and tough competitor
Mee 7 - Influential leader for side and was unlucky not to give them a win at the end
Ward 6 - Tough and energetic as always and found a little time to get up the flank
Gudmundsson 6 - Played very deep on right and did his defensive job with great tenacity
Defour 7 - Used all experience to control middle and wily in his possession as always
Cork 6 - Anchor in middle and often dropped deeper to form defensive shield
Brady 6 - Hardly saw his attacking qualities but did well in winning header for goal
Arfield 6 - Wonderfully composed finish from side's first attack and deserved his glory
Woods 6 - Used to exploit Liverpool weakness in air at back, performed task with vigour
Sub
Barnes 6 (Gudmundsson 60)
Popeye 10/10 for a great confident all round performance ..
That OC assessment is on a par with how I saw the players performance. Another massive performance from the back 4 and the highest praise I would give Pope is that Tom was not missed.
Defour nearly lasted the full game so again deserves great credit for being prepared to run around at the expense of the game he wants to play. A player of great character for doing this and so important in us getting another brilliant result.
Ben Mee my MOM with 9 then 8 for Pope, Tarkowski and Lowton , Ward had the hardest job against Saleh and for me gets a worthy 7.
Cork and Defour get 8s and Brady and Gudmundsson 7s. Arfield 8 was another who had an outstanding performance and long may he make me eat my words.
Wood worked his socks off and gets a 6 which would have been higher if he had been able to get more control if the ball when he had the chance.
The subs did well to keep the shape and give 100%.
I cannot comment as I only had the bias commentary of Phil Bird on ClaretsPlayer.

I thought the two partnerships Mee and Tarkowski and Defour and Cork were really excellent today.
