I was reading the article on the chronicle about how Shearer actually wanted to go to Man Utd but Jack Walker blocked the move and then at the bottom it said (well Martin Edward) how they almost signed Gazza but he decided he wanted London and Spuds.
What do you think might have happened had he gone to Man Utd, do you think Fergie could have tempered his self-destruct instincts or would his practical jokes etc. have rubbed Fergie the wrong way and he'd of been gone fairly quickly.

According to Shearer he was going to Man U. but Keegan asked to have one more chat with him and talked him into coming to the Toon.I think the Jack Walker blocking the move was started by Man.U. fans as a reason not to join them. Originally Posted by Jammy89

More to the point, how many would Shearer have scored if he had moved there.
