Just died aged 89. Before my time but I worked with a bloke who was an absolute fanatic. He had seen him countless times and met him. I recall Pete telling me just what a nice person he was. Apparently Paul McCartney wrote Lady Madonna purposely in Fats style. This was news to me and I only heard the very decent version recorded by Fats Domino this afternoon.
