Strikers - some ammunition for the Mitro support

Interesting article on the chronicle about Mitro and our strikers - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport...story-13845115

Basic sum is that Mitro has better stats than other two but isn't trusted. He'd jumped to back up but then got sent off again which reconfirmed Rafa's belief that he can effect the ultra thin margins that might cost us points.

Mitrovic came on for 12 minutes against Palace won three aerial challenges and touched the ball 11 times. Against West Ham he scored. His 30 minutes on the pitch have seen him take three shots and score once: 211 minutes for Gayle have seen six shots. Joselu has had 652 minutes, scored twice and taken 24 shots at the apex of a system created to get the most out of him.

It is not that Gayle isn’t trying or following Benitez’s orders but his contribution across eight appearances so far has been extraordinarily peripheral, touching the ball just 63 times. In the Brighton match, his 20 minutes yielded two touches. Against Huddersfield, a start and 51 minutes saw him touch the ball just 14 times.

He (Mitro) has ten Premier League goals on his CV in 36 appearances – Joselu’s record is six goals in 31 games across spells at Stoke and United.
