    West Ham

    What a bloody shambles.
A small club trying to be a big club and the tax payer footing the bill.
    Close em down.

The whole affair seemed dodgy from the beginning. Not surprising with those characters Sullivan and Gold involved. The tax payer just cannot continue subsidising the venture and it is only right that it be re-evaluated. I know a lot of West Ham fans who never wanted to leave Upton Park in the first place.

It's so sad to see a great old ground of any club in its death throes.

Also amazing to see how little a patch of ground a stadium actually takes up yet what a massive part of a community it is.

If we ever moved ground I'm not sure I'd continue attending, the ground IS the memories.

Went to Leicester away a few weeks ago. The King Power is a nice stadium, light, clean & well thought out. But it has no soul & felt a little sterile.

I like the Hawthorns & others like it that are organic, growing over time, building history as it goes.

Can't see us moving. The people who run the club in the 1890's got it right. The first "modern" stadium", built outside the town centre, good rail and road links, which have got better with the motorway system. Easy to police and direct crowds.
I have wondered if we would have been better moving elsewhere as we have made the ground about 60% smaller than it was. but i wouldn't really want to move.
We just need a rebuild of the Halfords and to fill in the corners. Maybe Lai will press ahead with this?

"building history as it goes" ...... Thats the point. History adds something that a new sterile building takes decades to do. You cant build an old historic building. It takes time coupled with many precious memories.
