A couple of January Sales questions.

With the January shop window due to open soon what do we foresee?
Are we in a position to really ‘go for it’ or will we see more consolidation?
If it’s the former what/who might be top of the wanted list?
Personally I still think we’re lacking a mobile and intelligent leader in midfield. Another Leon Osman...who thir****(?) years ago made a massive difference to a Derby side that was struggling at the wrong end of the table. The same sort of signing in January and who knows? Maybe it’s Kieftenbeld but who/what would you go for?

I suspect that we may have to lose a couple off the wage bill before can acquire anyone. FFP rather than cash seems the limiting factor.

I haven't heard much about ledley, hoping we keep him as IMO he is better than Huddlestone who frankly proves the point about never going back. But i wonder if we are still hoping to sign the guy from Brum? I'd hazard a guess he would rather be in a team in the top 6 than one in the bottom 3 but do we need him if we keep ledley?

Sell Martin would be a start. 6 strikers just seems a bit too many Bent unlikely to be saleable. Bennett wont take much off wage bill. Winnall not ours to sell. Vydra and Nugent start. You know it makes sense. Lawrence could play more central striking if needs be too...and Weimann...and Russell!

A cheap mobile winger to come in perhaps but save the creative midfield (not Kieferbaldguy) till next window when we can see what division we are in 😊 An affordable creative at championship level would not cut it higher up.

I thought Ledley had signed an extension till the end of next season. He does a job but doesn’t exactly increase our midfield mobility.

Ledley has signed till end of season. Kieftenbeld is another defensive midfielder to add to Ledley, Huddlestone and Thorne so I don't think he's the solution.

Pains me to say it but the kid Forest have from Everton is the kind of free scoring attacking midfielder we are missing. Alan Judge played his comeback game today and scored.

Or what about one of Villa's eight surplus midfielders?

Lasse Vibe another from Brentford I rate and can play up front or on the wing.

I think we all generally agree it's an attack minded creative midfielder that should top the shop.

Hasn’t Ledley signed an eigh**** month extension, Manx...i.e. the end of next season?

Absolutely, either central or left sided, otherwise Lawrence gets marked out of the game.

    Maybe Thorne will be sold?

Sorry to show my ignorance of what emanates from Pride Park between matches, but do any of you think that this need for a creative midfielder is shared by 'the management'?

Creative midfielder. We don't need 2 DMs IMO. As much faith as Keogh seems to have in Curtis D, who is solid defensively but uncomfortable on the ball, I think we should play Tom at CD and just have 1 DM and that would be GT. That way we could play 1-4-1-3-2. Be stronger in MF and have 2 up front. My choice if we are to stay tight at the back as GR seems to want.

I would prefer to go 1-3-2-3-2.
Carson in goal. A back 3 of Keogh, Tom and Davies. GT and Ledley ahead of them (or Ledley and BJ). Weimann, Vydra (or GT) and Lawrence as the AMs and Nuge and Martin (or Vydra) together up top. Nuge running the channels, Martin doing his linking up play. I have added possible changes in (brackets).

What is it with Derby County whoever in charge just can't see what we need ....

Kieftenbeld maybe a decent player but do we really need another defensive midfield along side Thorne Ledley & Huddleston we lack some attacking type midfielders with legs
I would get Barry Bannan, from what I saw at Pride Park when Wednesday came, plus we need a striker who can control a football in a calm way
also after watching the under 23's last night I would get Charles Vernam closer to the first team squad looks to have what we are lacking
