Whilst Wilder has made jokes about the implications of Brooks social media gaff he will be privately seething that rival managers have been given a get out of jail card well in advance of games and aided their team selections and tactics.

Re Selling Brooks in the JTW I've read several articles suggesting a fee around £20m is to be offered by Spurs,Everton and Liverpool. If a bidding war goes to that level obviously he's gone. As long as Wilder gets enough to sign players of the quality needed to sustain a promotion challenge I feel we would have to acknowledge there's not a chance rhe board would turn money like that down. As has been said before, one bad tackle and his career is over and we get zip.

I did say on another thread that Wilder wouldn’t be ‘appy with him tipping the wink to Bruce. Another part of the lads learning process.
