    Barnes recalled

Barnsley Football Club can announce that winger Harvey Barnes has been recalled by parent Club, Leicester City.

Barnes, 20, made 23 appearances for the Reds after joining in August, starting 18 games, and netted five goals, including a stunning strike against Sheffield Wednesday back in October.

The winger also provided four assists during his time at Oakwell and his tireless running up and down the flanks made him an instant hit with Reds supporters.

Barnes thrived through the month of October, earning himself the Reds’ Player of the Month award and was influential in the squad during their stunning run which saw them lose just one of eight matches between September and mid-November.

He was also selected for international duty with England’s Under 20s side, where he has scored twice in three appearances for the Three Lions.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Harvey for the contributions he made for the Reds where he has shown his class both by scoring goals on the pitch and being a consummate professional off it.

The Club would like to wish Harvey and Leicester City the very best of luck in the Premier League.

Can't we just send him back & pay any "fine" [if any]

Although it could ruin any future loans from Chelsea
but if they're owt like Ugbo has been. no great loss

Puel discussed the talents of young midfielder Harvey Barnes after he returned to the Club from his loan spell at Barnsley on Monday.

The Frenchman added: “When some players, a young player, loan with different clubs I look at them to feel their quality. I think Harvey can bring something for the team.

“He needs to continue to work and if we can help him develop with the team in the training session and perhaps some game time it will be a good thing for him.

“But he has good quality and what he can do on the pitch with Barnsley was amazing.”

Shame abart that. He wo the only player we ed wi real pace on the ball. Pace freetens defenders mooar than the two-headed 50-50 seller.

Still, wiv done aar job gerrin him toughened up and match fit. Pity he'll ev to sit out the rest of the season at Leicester. Tha can bet Chelsea al not be recalling Ugbo.

The positive is it does free up a loan slot for Big Chien to throw his brass at covering big wages.

Can't happen SB until revenues increase due to FFP regulations unfortunately .

I've not even considered FFP at the club to be honest steve , either today or under the old owner until I read the problems at Wendy last night on Owlstalk .

It's not generally a problem you think about supporting this club given we don't spend much in relation to many other clubs at this level .

To get round it you have to show evidence that any bankrolling is actually revenue produced as a business and not a owner cash injection .

That's how I understand it in anycase .

In short , it doesn't matter how wealthy our owners are the revenue needs to come from the business itself which is why they are possibly seeking advertising and sponsorship deals abroad .

Pushing prices up with ST's and match day prices won't work here given the local economy .
