    The Sums

Over the years the debate of whether very cheap tickets would actually generate less, similar or more than ‘standard’ prices has been argued for and against.

Well maybe we will finally have our answer after the Crewe game.

Knowing everyone (except season ticket holders) paid £2 gives a good platform to compare to the average price paid per game (what would that be, maybe £10?)

Would the extra volume as well as the add on sales each person provided make for a better return for all involved?

    What do you think?

I would guess the average is £16 factoring in kids paying less and non ST holders paying more.
At those prices and no special offers I would guess our attendance would be around 5500.
    5500 x £16 = £88,000 (less vat)
At £2.00 even if we sold out every game that would be under £40,000 (less vat)
The food kiosks struggle to service the current numbers so added revenue would be minimal. Add to that the increased policing/stewards we would be much worse off!

This is my concern. For some reason whenever we have offers on and the attendance is higher than usual we don't put on a show so to speak.

This game against Swansea could capture a few peoples attention and make them come to the Crewe game. So in these two games we've got some good adverts and reasons to show why we have got to the 4th round and why we are 2nd in League Two so that people are tempted to come again between now and the end of the season.

What rubbish. Of course they come back, if they didn't we would have no crowd at all, would we? You are just repeating what you've read somewhere else and you think it sounds good.

I thought I'd check this out, as it's something you often hear. I went through upthemaggies site and here's a list of all the home games this century, where we've had over 10,000 spectators. It doesn't make good reading!

Although 7 of the 18 are in the last five years, 5 of them have been since AH took over. We are trending well!

Yes the tide's turning, although those glass half empty people would say, 'yes, but we've only won one'

What surprised me (obviously the memory ain't so good as it used to be) is that Mansfield appear 6 times in that list and we haven't beaten them once. Let's hope that changes on March 17th.
