Derby sent a scout to watch Ethan Ampadu during Chelsea U21’s penalty shootout loss in the EFL Trophy semi-final against Lincoln City.
The derby scout left Sincil Bank with 20 minutes to go and had seen enough that he was satisfied with what he saw of Ethan Ampadu to get the club to move for him in the summer.

Who is Ethan Ampadu?
Ampadu joined the Premier League champions last summer, and has made an immediate impression, with Antonio Conte handing him several first-team appearances, which led to his first international cap for Wales.
He is a rising prospect for Chelsea and one for the future tipped to be the next Ruud Gullit let that one sink in, a interesting catch for Derby if they manage to sign him on loan next summer.
