    O/T - Old £10 Note Deadline

The old paper £10 note (featuring Charles Darwin) ceases to be legal tender from midnight tonight.

The Bank of England estimate there’s still over £2bn worth in circulation.

So, all you hoarders, get that stash from under the mattress, in that sock at the back of your sock drawer, buried in a tin in the back garden or wherever you’ve hidden it and hightail it down to the bank.

Someone tried fobbing me off with one in my change the other day, got them to give me a proper one.

£2 bn is an awful lot of notes still in circulation. Don't you mean £2 mn?

The Bank of England recently estimated that there were still over 200mn old £10 notes in circulation. So their worth is over £2bn, which is what my original post said.
