Le saux - 'we bottled it'..

Hope he doesn't bump into Tim flowers, but Le saux claims Rovers bottled it on the title run in.. Suggesting utd lost it.

If I'm honest, its the reason I've always more enjoyed the league cup win. It was undeniable, and the fact it was done with youth products like duff and dunn made it feel that much more satisfying.

    Each to their own though.

There was definitely an element of nervousness towards the end. Hardly surprising, though.

Again though we’re on that trip of : why oh why can’t we win every game 😉

All the ‘spadework’ had been done prior to those final weeks, so it was up to Manure to overhaul us which the failed to do. Courtesy of those boys in Claret an Blue😉

I dont recall us ‘bottling it’ on VE night !!!
One of my most memorable games ever.

I guess you could label that at Man United aswell, they blew it down at West-Ham on the final day.
We had lead all season and as you say Despair, in the games where we simply had to win ....VE day ....we won! Had we lost that night, then I think Man U would have gone on to overhaul us. But they didn't, we didn't lose, we stepped up and did the business.
Newcastle, the season they should have won it ....the season after we did, they bottled it ....they had a huge lead and the pressure got to them. By the time they played us Fenton scored 2 and it was all over. After crumbling at Anfield.
United let a huge lead go when City beat them to it, in the famous 'Agueroooooooooooooooo' moment.
The season before we won it, we overturned a 16 point gap at xmas to catch Man U, we went equal when we beat them 2-0 (Shearer 2) but fell away just before the end.

I seem to recall Young Mr Fenton decided to stay in digs or something some distance away from his home on Tyneside for a week or so 😳

I actually thought we deserved it more, playing better football, the season before we won it, finishing runner up. With Sutton and Shearer, we definitely went more long ball.

On the day we did bottle it however we won by the point so over the course of the season we were the better team and at the end of the day thats all that matters.
