Hard to imagine really, but as only five English players are in double figures for goals this season, and two of them are Glenn Murray and Wayne Rooney, then Ash can't be that far down the pecking order can he.

Barnes playing for England, surely you jest? Not that he hasn’t earned some consideration, but Southgate would need special dispensation from the Ivory Towers within the FA for that to happen. To Quote Claude Jeremiah Greengrass from ‘Heartbeat’……….”and pigs might”.

If Barnes has any aspirations about playing international footy, Austria would be his best bet.

Footnote. I hope I’m proved wrong about England, Barnes is a Burnley treasure.

No mention of Tarks defending I see TEC - at least Pope didn't conceal his discontent.

Barnes for England, well as we don't have much of the special anyway - why not....he can blast em and as of recently - mostly hits the target.

The Ward injury confused Tarkowski, the ref played on and Tarkowski came a cropper. S-h-i-t happens, he will learn from it!
