    Micah Richards - good/bad?

Seen a couple of rumors that Micah Richards will be released by Villa at season end. Ex prem player, International experience, Champions league experience. 28 years old, RB/CB

Not sure what has happened with him in recent times, had quality, oozed class & composure a couple of seasons back - maybe to injury prone now?

Is he someone we should look at, maybe we could reignite his career and Leeds could be the beneficiaries ( with the correct contract to cover us) or is he now someone to avoid signing even if low risk regarding transfer cost?

He has the same injury issue that Ledley King used to have, so they don't use him - hasn't played for months but wants to. I used to really rate him, but i guess if VIlla haven't thought they should use him, given where they are, he probably wouldn't add much for us either.

Agreed, he looked fantastic when he broke through at City. Always a shame when injuries take such a toll.

It's a bad thing. Villa aren't a good side and if we have any ambitions we shouldn't be taking their cast-offs.

He is a Leeds born lad though isn't he?
Might just give him a new lease of life.

Aren't a good side? They're in 4th place and 7 points clear of 5th and not long ago beat Wolves 4-1.

Their second 11 man for man is better than our first choice 11

For me, Richards was England's best rb several years ago, strong quick and a good defender, now possibly too injury prone but maybe we need to look at the best available free transfers, when I say that. I mean good players like Richards and others who have played at the top of championship or in the Premier league, that way it's only wages that we need to contend with

Id see if we can get rid of wiedwald lonergan Anita Cooper Murphy okane klich roofe cibicki and antonsson, that would bring in a bit of money and maybe more importantly reduce the wage bill to allow us to bring in the players we need, once that bunch have gone, we need a quality gk albeit I think BPF is a more than capable backup. A quality cb to partner jansson and then loan a backup with shaughnessy as the other backup, a quality cm to partner forshaw, Vieira and Phillips both very capable backups on their day, and a quality goalscoring striker, I like ekuban and I think grot in a couple of years could come good and we've Roberts who's an unknown quantity right now due to his injury

Agree with the first bit Clive but thing some of your get rid list can still do a job for us.

We don't need to get rid of Cooper, Roofe or O'Kane we just need to be in a position where they are simply back ups to better players.

But the backups still have to be almost as good as first choice otherwise like this season injuries and suspensions will be our downfall
