    Cash turnstiles

At the SOL last night,a rumour that Toon fans were coming to support Norwich caused this panic measure of closing them.

Later fans who wanted to pay the reduced £1 entrance fee could gain entry by going to the booking office and proving they were Sunderland supporters.

Ironic, then, that it was a rumour started by one of their own fans on Clowns 'r' Us.

Denied their own fans the chance to lend their support to the team when they needed it most. Genius.

I remember when they were going down to the 3rd tier in the 80s a trainload of Geordies went to Roker Park to take the pish.

It turned active dislike for us to blind hatred.

I would have thought they would have been grateful for the few extra pounds on the gate money.

Hmm!!! Prove that your a Sunderland fan eh!
    What does that involve exactly?

    Knuckles dragging on the floor?
Bringing your sister and your mother, to the match with you but still only needing the two tickets..

    Suggestions welcome....

Face and jaw dropping down to the knees, permanent glazed look, total incorrigible belief that they are and always have been the best team in the northeast by a country mile even during the last period in the third tier.

Total lack of imagination and reality.

Convinced as in last failed season that they will bounce back in one go as the super champions.

I might even have a few bob on it for three relegations on the bounce as I should have done pre this season when I predicted this one.
