    Promotion run in - updated

Updated tables + remaining fixtures left for top 9 teams.
Below that are the upcoming fixtures in the next week involving those teams.
Of particular interest to us in the midweek games is Charlton's ( game in hand over us) visit to AFC Wimbledon.
Then next weekend not only do we visit Wigan, but other teams in the mix also play each other so of course they can’t both win. Given the fact that we are running out of games and three teams have to overtake us, makes the buffer we have very important. So even if we lose at Wigan next week, not everyone will close in on us. Providing we avoid heavy defeats our better goal difference could be another advantage. So whatever happens mid week / next week-end we will still be 4th . Effectively anything at Wigan is effectively a bonus or a free hit and will consolidate our position.

Here are the facts & figures:

    TABLE:

    1. Blackburn played 40 - points 85 GD + 39
    2. Wigan played 39 - points 83 GD + 51
    3. Shrewsbury played 40 - points 81 GD + 22

I missed two of Wigan’s away games. They are at Bristol Rovers & Doncaster.

All this means that, out of their remaining games, the top 9 teams have the following no. of games against a fellow promotion/play off team:

Blackburn 2 out of last 6
Wigan 1 out of last 7
Shrewsbury 2 out of last 6
Rotherham 2 out of last 5
Plymouth 3 out of last 6
Charlton 4 out of last 6
Portsmouth 3 out of last 5
Peterborough 3 out of last 5
    S****horpe 2 out of last 5

Excellent stuff Mr Dee. I'm trying to figure out a trip back to Blighty based around the play offs and and would appreciate any of your imput as to what dates I should include, given the possible or probable opposition. Many thanks in advance.

Not certain sota I don't think the play-off dates have been announced yet.
Final at Wembley will be end of May, Spring Bank Holiday week....
That's if we make the play-offs.....win the play-offs and manage to get to Wembley. Lol..

Thanks Frank, what a shot he had by the way. I'm also trying to fit The Stones in at Old Trafford too. C'mon Milers make it simple if you can :-)

Stones gig at Old Trafford is on 5th June, we were hoping to go watch them as well.
You would possibly have to come over for at least 3 weeks to make sure you get over for the play-offs.
Better option may be to book for The Stones and cross your fingers in the hope we get to Wembley.

Barry Lyons was my favourite player around that era...

Eyup Frank, I usually come over for at least 3 weeks so it could work well. Barry Lyons was my favourite too, and Chris Hudson was the nicest bloke on Earth. Let's meet up if possible.

No problem of a meet sota, I usually go in Angel, Rhino's, New Inn, Bluecoats, Cutlers and New York Tavern.....
Not all in the same day of course.....

EDIT : Went in the Park Hotel to buy Villa a drink and he wasn't there.....lucky me.

I will be in touch nearer the time.

Always have a lot of time for ' Willie Womble ', he played in the same team as Chris H.
Told Trevor W a while ago " I would never forgive him for going to Halifax on loan "......
He replied " Loved it at Halifax "....LOL.....He was laughing at the time he said it....

I love all of those places. Last time I was in The Cutlers a lad was playing lead and bass on a single guitar, just brilliant. Last time I was in Bluecoates, I was sat next to a 14th century wall. If you fancy having a pint with me, just let me know on here, I'll be over soon xxx

SOTA and CASPER, two of the most respected posters on here, bagged on the same thread.

Sota first. I've been meaning to ask you for some time if you were coming over for The Stones. Thought you would be but couldn't be sure. How I miss the music threads on here but nobody seems interested anymore. The Stones? How many times have you seen them live? Remember when Poddington said how many times he'd seen the Pet Shop Boys live. Think it was well over 70 and all he received on here were jeers and ridicule. Poor old Podd, hope he's fit and well.

P.S. Florida seems to get more than it's fair share of natural disasters and with everyone I think, I hope dear old Sota is out of harms way.
