Close between Pope and Tarko imo, both were thrown in at the deep end, but neither ever looked like drowning. I'd probably give it to Nick Pope, Tarko had a bit of prepping last seaon, but Pope had no preparation at all, awesome the way he's stepped straight in and coped with the pressure.

I have seen all of the truly great goalkeepers we have had at the Turf since the Blacklaw days, but I cannot remember a keeper who takes hold of high crosses better than Pope.

Once his kicking off the deck improves, this lad will be one heck of a goalkeeper.

I’d be totally shocked if Pope isn’t voted our “player of the year’. He came into the team with just about zero experience at the top level, under intense pressure to replace an England goalie and performed over and above anyone’s expectations. However, my ‘player of the year’ is Barnes. The man is the poster boy for what the latest version of Burnley Football Club is all about. He’s not the most skilled player by a long shot, but he shows up for work EVERY day, gives it his all EVERY time out, there’s nothing more one can ask of a player……..and……...he must be a pain to play against.

Anyone who can get a ball down a chimney has to be player of the year

completely agree - Colner....easily a vote for Pope from me - never let us down - stepped in and was one of our unfailing few - he saved the season.

    As I myself voted.

To underscore the vote his seven earned free kicks against Brighton was the only light in an awful match.

    .

the amount we've scored....puts us at the low end - the amount we've let in...puts us at the high end.

so again - Defence and Goal are the......Stars - for me.
