MATCH DAY POST: The Mighty Blades v Preston NE

Well only the wildest optimist would now think that today's match represents anything more than a chance to leapfrog another team, in a step to as higher league finishing position as possible. However I can't help feeling if this was a relegation battle and we were sat in Derby's position and them in ours (occupying 3rd bottom as it were) with the same amount of teams in between and relative points differences, we would still manage to get relegated - in the 97th minute. What a shame these things never go our way. Been our own doing though in the last few months, but still going to be an excellent Championship return....

    Anyway...

    Any team news?

    Clarke seemingly a likely returnee?

    Otherwise keep it unchanged?

For the last home game, the lads chosen should be the ones that have achieved the good return..?

The likelihood of everything going our way this afternoon is slim, but IF we secure the home win over a good Preston side, we'll all be looking at the results with an air of hope. We need to go out on a high, and therefore I don't see the point in experimenting for the sake of it. Great Summer to look forward to, and hopefully CW is given the chance to make the recruitment he KNOWS we need, to take us that next step.....

2-1 Blades win, and a slim chance of taking the battle to the last game of the season...

Where pretty much every result will go wrong anyway

They're not goin to lay down and die as we have this last couple of weeks it will be a tough one, wouldn't surprise me if we came up with a performance now it's too late in the same way we always attack teams at will when we're behind in injury time. But I'm goin for a stalemate 1-1 with them possibly nicking it as we suicidally try and win it at the death

A draw might be better, it will kill off any lingering hopes and hopefully help to speed up a boardroom resolution.

Ive looked into my Crystal ball and all the results will be favorable for us this week and next, its essential that we win today and at Bristol City.

What a nice surprise that would be for the Blades.
