Chris Wilder High on Sunderlands list for new manager

According to Jim White on talksport this morning after speaking to Sunderland representatives. Man fronting new owners Stuart Donald worked with CW at Oxford.

We are vunerable now because the two idiots in charge are in the middle of a mardy hissy fit dispute.

Sunderland debt free, parachute payments still, 48k new stadium been in the premiership a lot more than we have in recent years has its attractions and no doubt a significantly better remuneration package. Downsides are the overpaid expensive deadwood that needs to be moved on in a lower division.

Having worked with Donald before I would say this is more tempting for CW than any alleged overtures from WBA.

If anything it may encourage the two fools to get their act together.

    Don't bet on it.

Of course, if CW goes it might be down to the 'double your wages' thing, that all of us would find hard to walk away from, rather than any thing in the boardroom. Wonder how his insistance on British players would turn out at SAFC..?.

The caveat, is "The Blades lasts whilever we've got someone willing to chuck £6-10m down the hole every year..."

There's always been comment about selfless individuals keeping clubs afloat through thin and thinner.

    Serious question.

How many clubs in the PL/EFL have folded, ceased trading, no longer exist within those 92 clubs?

exactly phuck all. people will say look what happened to portsmouth ,sunderland, spent big now in trouble, they phucked up when in the prem ,not on their way up. lets at least have a good go at getting up and give wilder what he wants, hes said him self hes not asking to sign a 40 grand a week player but he,d like to sign better quality than what he already has and it wont cost 40 grand a week.

I suppose the counter argument to none having gone bust is because of all those selfless individuals.

I do think that, with the money for getting to the PL, the parachute payments if you drop out and SENSIBLE managenment of the club at all levels when there and if relegated, then it's possible to survive without breaking anyone's bank eg Burnley.

The curious thing is that Sunderland, despite their problems, profligacy and mis - management, are probably in a better position than us, although their mis management means that they still have eg Rodwell on a 40k a week contract in div 3.

But those issues are down to bd management and , as sytated, with a clear plan, those sort of issues can be eliminated.

The seriously worrying thing here for me is that the good players we have play for Wilder. He raised their game this season and made them a top half side in this division. If he goes then i would expect everyone of them to buy into his vision and move with him. I'm gobsmacked that we are sat here even discussing this possibility. What is wrong with our owners. We are on the cusp of something great. Back it and enjoy the ride. Wilder will not fail if given the tools. Its frustrating beyond belief. The fans deserve better. Chris deserves better.
