There seems to be a basic assumption that because it is taking time to resolve their dispute, the two owners have...

    a. no idea that it is important that they bring it to a speedy conclusion, or

    b. that they don't appreciate that getting a budget in CW's hands for the new season is a priority, both to keep him here and give us a chance of getting the best players we can afford.

    This is naive.

The timing sucks, and its frustrating, but here we are, and all we can be is patient and hope for the best and quickest outcome. Open letters from Danny in the Stir, or Alan Biggs (or woodwardfan on s2 for that matter..) aren't worth the pixels they are displayed in.

I can understand why some might feel they need to sound-off even though I agree that there’s little chance in it will achieve anything. We’ve been down a similar road with fans openly begging McCabe not to sell certain players and to build a team around them and I achieved beggar all.

I thinks it’s human nature though, they think what they say might get through and they’re just trying to protect something that they love and is a major part of their lives, the thought of having the rugs pulled from under them again is too much to contemplate. Let’s also remember that if current the lack of action resulted in the club falling back into a downward spiral and even relegation, many of the backroom staff at the club could lose their jobs and it would also affect suppliers and match day staffing. Maybe we would feel a little less relaxed the current farcical situation could directly or indirectly affect us, our family or our business?

You forgot earthquakes and locusts Gray!

I think its typical of Unitedites to fix on the worst possible outcome on any situation with the club, but that doesn't make it the most likely one. Other outcomes including 'We were worrying over nowt', and 'Its all so much better now the Prince has taken over' are equally possible.

As a forum, this place would be pretty boring if everyone just focused on the positives all the time.

As fans, we'd be remiss if we allowed the stewards of the club to walk it into oblivion without at least speaking out.

There seems to be a lot of 'I can't change the outcome so I'm not going to worry' attitudes about recently, which is fine, to each his (or her) own and all that. I can only assume these are the same people who would prefer it if the news focused on little kitty cats and babies taking their first steps rather than war and famine, or if those nasty smelly homeless people were rounded up and put somewhere that we don't have to see them.

It is rare, CD, for anyone to focus on the positives, any of the time. Whilst it is eminently possible for it all to go boobs skywards, I think we also need to accept that, based on what we actually know for certain about the current state of play with KK/HRH/CW (which is the square root of 'feck all'), that there are other outcomes too which don't include pestilence and floods. Until this whole thing has come out in the wash, there may be a value in keeping just a sliver of open-mindedness, instead of convincing ourselves, and over-stating how completely disasterous its all going to be, no..?

it appears I'm in a minority of one, then!
