Sad news as another of the squad of '68 leaves us.
Had the pleasure of making his acquaintance quite recently.
A very decent man with a terrific sense of humour.
Condolences to friends and family.
R.I.P Graham Lovett.
What a terrible season this has been. Graham was a true Albion great, being likened to Duncan Edwards and tipped for England until he was injured in a car accident. He overcame his injuries and was a again becoming the best player in the team when another crash ended his career.
R.I.P. Graham.
Met him in The Court House Sedgley around 1990. He actually went home and fetched his Cup winners medal to show me.
R.I.P.
He could have and should have been an Albion and England great. Another of my boyhood heroes has gone.![]()
That is very sad news. There is an article about his Albion career still on the Old Baggies website. I see they have just posted another article giving the news and more information about Graham. He had some really bad luck. There were three Albion youngsters who my dad told me to keep an eye on - Tony Brown, Lyndon Hughes and Graham. The second car crash he was injured in happened near to where I was living and I remember it well.
RIP Graham Lovett.
Condolences to his family.
R.I.P Graham Lovett. Very sad news, was only taking to him a few months ago about watching him train at Spring rd and the Cup final.
Fantastic player, who if he didn't have had those accidents should of got 100 caps.
Such an underrated player, he was the heartbeat of the Albion team of the late 60s. Astle, Bomber, General, Chippy and Yorkie, then Asa and Len Cantello got all the plaudits, but Shuvitt was immense even as a ****ager. I wrote to Alf Ramsey in 1970, telling him to get his arse down the Hawthorns to have a look at Astle and "the new Duncan Edwards". He never replied but he did choose Jeff for Mexico!
RiP Graham a great hero of mine.
