Thread: Ben Mee to leave in the Summer?

Ben Mee to leave in the Summer?

According to reports contract discussions have stalled between Burnley and Ben Mee over his demands for £80.000/week wages and that Arsenal or Tottenham could be interested.
Cuold be some mileage in this with considering his absence from the first team recently.I for one will not be upset if he leaves.Although he has been a brilliant servant to the club he does tend to drop the odd clanger now and again which cost points then again he has saved us a few as well with last minute clearances.

Whilst I will be desperately sorry if he leaves as he has been the one Burnley player who seems to fly under the radar.

But whatever his reason to leave we have to strengthen our squad and the release of a couple of our better players will provide additional transfer money (add Heaton?).

Unfortunately we could release four of five of our first team squad and get very little for them.

I note that Arfield and Marney have been given free transfers to find the club of their choice and that is a great gesture from the club and is the right thing to have done.

TEC posted on here six weeks ago that Ben was off.

Just a question now of where to and how much?

It is rumoured from a very good "source" that £20 million has been on the table for the last six weeks.

I simply cannot understand if you are guaranteed first team EPL football, you are well looked after and appreciated by the club and its' fans and you are receiving almost £3 million a year in wages, YTF do you want to move elsewhere?

Give your head a wobble Ben lad?

I don't buy this "shin injury" business. Dyche has obviously dropped Mee because of the contract situation.

A real shame because the defence is significantly weaker without BM. I expect Howe to take full advantage of this as Bournemouth win tomorrow. The fact Dyche is willing to let SA & DM play at some stage shows he is not THAT bothered about Sunday's result.

This surprises me........... then I remember the final 3 games of last season when we were "on the beach".

We finish SEVENTH no matter what. It's a dead rubber - who cares?

If Sean wants to win Manager of the Year Tarks wants Player of the year and a WC place with Pope they should care. Another Arsenal performance will kill all 3 hopes. A few others may be playing for their careers.
We need to go out on a win

None of our lot are playing for their careers today OC.

Today is about celebrating a great season and saying farewell to two players who have been part of SD's journey.

The tons of sentiment and outpourings of unbridled joy that will be on display have meant that I have passed the season ticket over to my lad's mate.

    Enjoy!

Yes I get the drift but Nahki might be - if he gets a game.
Hope Scotty and Dean get their game time.
Looks like Ben won’t be there to say goodbye.

Will Tom and Tarks be off I wonder?

There won’t be unbridled joy with a 5-0 defeat. Especially on Your Predictions thread!
