Three and easy for the Mighty 'Well

Motherwell cantered to a comfortable 3-0 win over a woeful Hamilton side to end the league season in seventh place. A double from Ciftci and a third from Aldred left the home support cheering their heroes on ahead of next week's cup final. - External Link

After last weekends debacle we have responded well and finished the league season in perfect fashion with two wins.

Regardless of what happens next week this has been a good season for us and I can hand on heart say that it's been my favourite season in years. After a miserable few years under McCall, Baraclough and McGhee, we actually have a team we can be proud of again and who have comfortably avoided the drop as well as giving us two marvellous Cup runs into the bargain. And who knows, they might even go one better yet!

All credit to Stephen Robinson and the young players brought into today’s game. We made between 7/8 changes from Tuesdays team against our local rivals and completely played them off the park.Young Turnbull did not look out of place in the team,McGuire had a very good game.Grimshaw(Duracell) never stopped chasing every ball. Ciftci scored two good goals and unlucky not to get a trick. Certainly our manager has a few difficult decisions to make before naming his cup final squad but it is certainly a nice position for him to be in

Absolutely. We had a shape for most of the time and had some decent passages of football. Whatever the manager decides for next week, we know we've got fresh legs who can come on and slot in. We're going to have to harry and hustle, but if we can get to 80 minutes at 0-0 we'll have a chance.
Maybe it'll all happen through the next week, but I was a wee bit disappointed not to see more shops in the town centre displaying our colours.

We looked good today and the young players that came in certainly did themselves justice. Good to see we have a few young players coming through to compliment and challenge the players in the first team at the moment. As for the shops. Listened to Tam Cowan on Sportsound and they were talking about the same thing. The Celtic fans were complaining about the bunting in the Motherwell because Motherwell have reached the final. Some shops are a bit dubious about doing they're shops up just in case he Celtic fans boycott them. That is what we are up against.

Well let’s hope the same shops that are worrying about Celtic fans boycotting them don’t jump on the band wagon when we WIN the cup COYW

F#@k the manky *******s and their threatened boycott of our shops. They could go shop in the east end of Glasgow but probably couldn't find it coz they've never been near Darkheid in their lives.

A good win today over our local rivals from across the Clyde. It was also encouraging to see the likes of Turnbull, Maguire, Brown and MacLean get more first team experience. A record shut out too and the financial benefit of finishing in 7th spot. A good season to be a Well fan and we have next weekend to look forward to. Good to know as well which shops want our trade and those who don't.

It's our home town and on a rare occasion such as this we don't have to explain ourselves or be wary of celebrating it just incase we upset the biggest bunch of cantankerous, self righteous *******s that have ever been sh@t into existence. That club are allowed to run Scottish football and manipulate everyone to get their own way because far too many tip-toe around them. Well to hell with that. This is OUR town and we are rightfully marking us reaching a Final.
