Finally the FA wakes up to the inevitable. A mid-season break of sorts but still some games to be played.
On never mind, it's a good idea.
However it's odd to have it in February when the season enters a crucial stage. You still have the FA Cup 5th round but in midweek.
Why not Christmas and New Year's?
That's when everyone is on a holiday mood. Best time still for the break.
Next perhaps they forget that European club competition resumes in February. This is a fundamental mistake.
Look at the other leagues that have this break. How well do they perform immediately after it?
These clubs still need another 3-5 games to get back into the groove.
Having this break means continental clubs will already be peaking come the February knock out rounds. It places enormous pressure on English clubs.
And don't forget this is just after the transfer window closes on January 31st, meaning new signings won't be match or team tactical ready.
And lastly, have these plods forgotten about Qatar 2022?
What's the use of a February break if the next World Cup is gonna be held in December?
Shouldn't arrangements already be made from next season to shift the season's end to October or November?
But better still to enforce the break to coincide with the WC? And bring the season to close to Late June or July.

Can’t see it working, for all the reasons above...plus, this year winter and the associated postponements didn’t really start until the end of February and lasted through the first three weeks or so of March so that would have worked well.
Never going to close over Xmas and New Year that's when clubs get their highest attendences
