PL - Table after fixtures of 5/8/18.

Please check (and, errr, let me know, like!) for errors and omissions. Remember, as both a twenty year bond holding Leeds fan and a New England Patriots season ticket holder, I'm barely human and the stresses and strains of both literally and figuratively using my cranium to enter your incredibly well-considered scores isn't always as accurate as it might be. Oh, and it hurts too.

    Table is in format:- poster/previous total/weekly score/new total/status.

    Dalek / 0 / 9 / 9 / New
    Hgatenasty / 0 / 9 / 9 / New
    T_bird7982 / 0 / 9 / 9 / New
    Yeboah01 / 0 / 9 / 9 / New
    Acido / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Davee59 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Deklufc / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Denver11 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Gaz1959 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Homer / 0 / 6 / 6 / Permanent
    Howie / 0 / 6 / 6 / Permanent
    Lufc74 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Lufcjohn88 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    MORRIM / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Orgoner / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Pissbelly / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Whitestomper45 / 0 / 6 / 6 / New
    Alfinyalcabo / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Belper69Ram / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Cocopops / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Fredlufc74 / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Gupt13 / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Harry / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Lasher / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Leedshippriest / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Silentman / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    Tichi1 / 0 / 3 / 3 / New
    CalverleyBoy2 / 0 / 0 / 0 / New
    Johnny_Default / 0 / 0 / 0 / Permanent

The 2018/19 season is officially off for all bar the biggest fish (unless you include the Charimunity Shield) and it's good to see most of the PL regulars back from their summer holidays along with a smattering of new faces from the World Cup competition held less than a month ago.

There are few weeks where outcomes, let alone scorelines, are easy to predict, but the opening fixtures always seem particularly difficult because teams take on new players, coaches and, in some cases, now play in a new league or against uncharted opposition. That's my traditional excuse, anyway.

Nobody managed to break the PL bank, but four scored a healthy nine points out of the first twenty-four available. Well done to Dalek (ExxO), Hgatenasty (OOxO), T_bird7982 (OxOO) and Yeboah01 (OOxO). It's a marathon, not a sprint, but a good start never seems to do anyone any harm.

Acido (xOxO), Davee59 (OOxx), Deklufc (OxxO), Denver11 (OxxO), Gaz1959 (OOxx), Lufc74 (OxxO), Lufcjohn88 (OxxO), MORRIM (OxxO), Orgoner (OxxO), Pissbelly (OxxO) and Whitestomper45 (xxOO joined two of our three resident Roboposters, Homer (all 99-0) and Howie (all 0-99), in scoring six points.

The table needs no explaining other than to say that CalverleyBoy was slightly better at this than CalverleyBoy2 seems to be...

There were no draws and, logically, no Strikers and Johnny_Default remains on nil points for the season.

    The results:-

(Community Shield) Chelsea v Manchester City (0-2)
    (C) Wigan v Wednesday (3-2)
    (L1) Stanley v Gills (0-2)
    (L2) Swindon v Macc (3-2)

The next set of fixtures is out as a separate thread.

    Good luck!

To be fair - most of it is cut and paste and it beats real work.

Excel or Word - forget that it's too geeky and Alf and Acido will never understand what we are on about

That useless doppelganger, CB2. The real thing will be back this week.
