    Favourite current Aberdeen player

My youngest lad is always going on about missing Adam Rooney so I asked him recently who is your favourite player now....Scott McKenna was his response. I said I thought you liked goal scorers and he quickly quipped “we don’t have anyone”. Even at 7 year old he can see our problem up front.
Niall McGinn is mine....a very fine player when in the mood.

Hmmmmm, not sure how much of this is fiction or baiting to be honest, but in a positive spirit, it is a tough question with the current team due to its form.

GMS is always exciting but not consistent
Shinnie is very commited but even his standards are lower this year.
McKenna has certainly grown as a player and very important to the team.
I'll probably go for Ferguson as his performances have exceeded expectations and form of those around him.

McGinn is nowhere near the favourite player on current form.
I'm struggling to think of many (just a couple) of fine performances he has had since he returned.
He wouldn't get in my starting 11 on current form.

Favourite players are for children. Once you are an adult you learn not to profess liking anyone for fear of ridicule so just turn into another negative cynic.

Joe Lewis is my least hated player.

Thankfully “hate” is not in my vocabulary, dislike/disapprove of perhaps......fight enemies with love as Oaksie said.......the player I dislike the least would be the skipper.

I agree, having a favourite player is a sign of weakness.

Big Joe would be someone I'd go hunting wild sheep with though.

Andy Bagshaw. Still can’t believe he’s not in the starting XI

McGinn has been my favourite player over the last 10 years probably but he's not really living up to it at the moment.

GMS is exciting and entertaining and to be fair to him he does have end product to his play when he's on form, so I'd possibly pick him.

As a more controversial shout, I'd also say Scott Wright, just because he is the "type" of player I like, although he's far from the finished product. When he's on form he can create something from nothing, go passed people like they aren't there and produce moments of magic that lighten up the game.

Similar style players I guess which reflects my own personal preference - I don't think they're necessarily the best overall players or most valuable to the team - Shinnie's workrate, commitment and aggression is important, Ferguson's maturity and ability for a young lad is admirable, McKenna's meteoric rise, and big Joe's consistency and moments of magic are also worthy of note.

As a centre half in my playing days I tend to watch the defence a lot when I watch fitba.

I don't do favorites but hat I can say is I am a big fan of Mikey Devlin. He has all the assets of a great centre half and is a proper leader. Constantly speaking and organizing and can read a game really well too

I have a funny feeling that he will become one of our best signings in years

We will get a lot of money for him in a few years would also be a suspicion too
