So whats the point of the cups?

Really pished off when we get beat.
So, in the championship wer not interested, cos wer looking promotion.
Ok, then in the prem wer not interested cos wer fighting relegation, or fighting for a top 6 place.
A few youngsters got a run out. Pity its just for 2 cup games and 2 defeats.
Whats the fecking point if you don't want to win something.

Big boys of the Prem & Championship must no longer need the revenue it can bring.Neither play their full teams anymore, It used to be just the EFL cup but seems same with Fa cup, Me personally although i know where our bread and butter is i want to win every game, Having said that if we went full strength today and won then we could have had a plum draw at home against one of the big boys, Surely welcome money to help add to the squad.

Years gone the cup games were a sell out.....now it's become a sell out! Don't make the top four in the prem then it's the FA cup or bust. Nice to have a plum tie but to me the gloss somehow has gone from the cup, which is a shame. We all know where the big bucks lay.....or lie!!!

There’s no point in my mind. Remember the days when F A Cup final day meant ITV v BBC and curtains in the sitting room closed from noon onwards. So exciting but n’more I think.

Watched the Newport / Leicester game, that's the point if the cup. In no other competition will clubs separated by 60 -70 league ever face each other.

Will never hope that Leeds lose any game, and I still enjoy the giantkilling concept that goes hand in hand with the FA Cup. But still won't lose one wink of sleep that we didn't progress this time around. We really need to protect our resources and go up first...then we can get more serious about it from there if our table position allows for it.

Value of cups has been devalued for top teams and those of us aspiring to get back to the top as a result of TV coverage and Sky in particular; the rewards from being at the top are just too vast now for teams to be able to afford to direct key player resources elsewhere. Whilst a good cup run is great fun, if it comes at the expense of failing to get promotion you can understand why teams don't expose their keys players to it in a first 11, any of those players could have got injured yesterday, if it had been Henandez and he was out for the rest of the season, cup runs don't seem such fun anymore.
