    Almiron Replacement Sky sports news

They've reported that Atlanta have signed Gonzalo "Pity" Martinez he's a playmaker and won the 2018 south American player of the year. His arrival at Atlanta means they now have four designated players on their roster and MLS rules only allow three. Could this mean we might actually pull the Almiron deal off??? Here's to hoping guys. 🤞🏻

It's been a stand off for a while now... but it is a risky one for the toon to play, with many disadvantages.

    1. Atlanta may not yield and we will have no plan B
    2. Another club could move in and sign him, we will have no plan B
    3. He may turn us down, we will have no plan B
    4. He may be Shiite, plan B may have been a good idea
    5. We have no plan B

We are obviously either confidently or arrogantly waiting to see if they back down in the next 3 or 4 days.

    Awful way to do business.

If he was that good why has no other club come on for him? I am doubtful re his fee, his agents's fee and his salary. Unproven player re his ability to hit the ground running in the PL. Could turn out to be a disaster at that price. The replacement cost £11m I believe so maybe holding out at £16m is the right thing to do.

    Just saying!

Might be off to spuds.. Mind you can't see spuds stumping up £20m on a player to cover a few injuries .. Cos when Son and Alli are back he ain't gonna get a game

Well by the looks of things he could well be on his way now. Weather it's us or someone else who get him remains unknown. What I don't understand is people talking about him being unproven and will he be any good in our league. Look at the millions upon millions spend on players for them to either be complete flops or take a couple of seasons to settle in. If we do sign him and even break our transfer record doing so I only see it as a positive.

We will probably get him for £16m if nobody else makes a move.... but what are we (the fans) expecting to get? £16 is almost the going rate for a championship player now.

We are comparing our £5m, £10m and £12m players against everybody elses £25m , £35m and even £75m players.

He is probably just an over average player, an upgrade on Atsu, Joselu, Muto and hopefully an upgrade on Perez.

We may or may not sign him... but other clubs (watford, Bournemouth, Southampton, Brighton etc) see a player, scout him, bid for him and sign him.

We are alone in our approach to transfers.

If he's one of Rafa's first choices which he seems to be I think he will be a good addition. In Rafa we trust.
