    Is Shan The Man?

It does look increasingly likely that Shan will lead us to the end of the season. Although reports suggest Allardyce as emerged as a frontrunner with Neil possibly taking over (because he's good at working to a tight budget) But I think the board have left it far too late to appoint a new manager now so Shan it is till seasons end.

cheap cheap cheap! We have won three games and credit to the guy but we could easily have lost to Swansea and Blues and certainly have not looked convincing. So going into the play offs with somebody with no experience - can't believe we are that stupid!

I have no problem with Shan staying at the club and helping an experienced manager but Shan to steer us through the play offs - you are having a laugh. At least Gary Megson has seen it - been there and done it!!!

Its only 3 games in and its such a short time to judge him on. Its been a promising start, I like how measured he sounds in interviews and it looks like the players are responding to him.

My opinion is that there are probably a lot of great potential managers out there who are coaching the youth team and don't get an opportunity because of the managerial merry-go-round that exists. I'm all for giving someone a chance in our setup because there are many experienced managers out there who I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

So why not give him until the end of the season and see what damage he can do, we're virtually a shoe-in for the playoffs. Either way, why not give a guy who has been at the forefront of our promising academy a chance?

You sometimes never know with people without experience how good they can be, until you throw them in the deep end to see if they sink or swim.

We did that with DM and he sank! If we lose in the play offs then Shan or the Board will get hell and most likely, we will be in free fall for next year. I would rather risk paying the money for an experienced person with Shan assisting - then if we don't get through the play offs - at least it won't be because of the usual cheap West Brom option.

I certainly would fear Villa in the play offs with their momentum - they look decent with Grealish back and love the guy or hate him - wish to God we had someone of that talent!

So no to playing Russian Roulette but would be happy for Shan to assist an experienced person.

Shan is not inexperienced nor is he 'in at the deep end' he has worked his way up through teaching the kids, to teaching the youth, and coaching the PL2 side and now as in most companies he is in the process of taking that final step to permanently become head coach of a team and club he obviously likes working with. He has already (as I said before) beaten teams managed by people that were touted as acceptable to come to West Brom.

Most on here are behaving like typical native English folk bashing someone that is doing well for himself and ultimately us.

I would like to see Pearson and Shakespeare pair up again and manage us they are both ex West Brom but they won't and please don't shout about all the bull that went on with Pearson at Leicester.

Shan is what we have, a Baggie boy doing well for himself and at the moment the team are looking a bit stronger each time. I can't see him letting his ideals slip away like Darren Moore did he has a bit more nous than the Big Man and you all wanted to back him although anyone taking that sort of job in that situation is/was and always will be doomed, so come on boys back Shan.

    If anybody can Shan can.

I came to the conclusion that DM's biggest mistake was appointing Jones as his right hand man. I firmly believe it was Jones who kept pushing the tactic of playing out from the back at all costs. When Moore took over in the Premiership it was not evident then. Maybe we should have just dumped Jones and let Moore do his own thing.

Like your optimism but DM was one of our own. I would keep Shan but letting him lead us in the play offs without experience - Russian Roulette is not for me. I know Jenkins would love this option though as it’s cheap!!! Peanuts......

Nothing has convinced me we are a match for any of the top three teams in terms of playing consistently good football at the moment with a creative and pacy midfield. Yes nine points but Swansea and Blues could easily have beaten us.

I would rather bring in Pearson or even a Megson short term with Shan assisting. Of course Shan won’t want this as he will want to try and make a name for himself - introduction of Edwards being one example which is great in one sense, but he struggled against Blues. A midfield of Brunt, Morrison and Livermore offers zero pace and creativity although credit to Brunt as he at least does give 100%

Shocked at the blinkered and short sightedness of the club!!! I certainly would not want to play Villa in the playoffs as Grealish is quality - hate to say it but its true.

We will miss out even on the play offs unless we get an experienced manager at the helm. DM was out of his depth and so is Shan by a country mile. Lucky against Swansea and Blues and a shambles today. Is the team picked by pulling numbers out of a lottery drum?

Jenkins and Lai - feck right off out of our club.
