In addition to my original post I’d like to see this lad get some time on the pitch too, I think he did ok against Brighton. Morgan Rogers, he’s still young I know but he’s the real deal.
Blood him Jimmy, Derby are already cacking themselves.
Do we wrap our better players in cotton wool or play them to keep them up to speed?
The players I refer to are Hegazi, (recently carrying a reoccurring ankle problem) Phillips, who although back needs to keep on the move as he may not have the fitness levels for two high octane games in a short space of time, but we don’t want to risk further injury as he’s prone to relapses. Gibbs, hopefully he’s over the hip problem now? Gayle has history of breaking down too.
Shan could be in a no win situation, We lose Ipswich win, and he plays a weakened team he’ll be moaned at but what’s the likelihood of an Ipswich win? We go with a strong line up to try and get third spot, Ipswich lose anyway, we pick up knocks to crucial players, Shan will get slaughtered for risking our big guns.
For me, I’d protect Hegazi without a doubt, Philips I’d maybe bring him on for the last twenty to top up his fitness levels, Gibbs is naturally fit as a flea so nothing to be gained by risking him so play Townsend. Gayle, leave him out and play HRK.
The season is almost over, players will be at the fittest they’ve ever been by now after months of playing, a rest won’t hurt for some and won’t do any harm. Plus there’s too much to be asked of Ipswich so why put all your chips on one colour?
I say let’s play it safe and try to get over the line injury free. Knackers to Derby and Ipswich.

Leeds won't lose. I'd be tempted to rest the lads you mention plus Dawson. I'd rest Johnstone as well....permanently! However, I also feel we should do the right thing and play our best eleven to be fair to 'boro' and Bristol City. Imagine being a fan of theirs and Albion losing due to fielding a weakened side. So long as we didn't pick up injuries they would be better off playing and keeping their sharpness.
Either way Hegazi definitely shouldn't start.
I hope Derek Monaghan gets a game.....he’s been very patient!
Tough call to make regarding the fair play to others aspect, I partly go along with it but also self preservation naturally enters my thinking, which I accept comes into it if you’re going up or down.If you’re praying on not being relegated and your nearest rival is up against a team already on the beach it does extinguish that last little bit of hope I agree but isn’t about what you’ve done over the larger part of the season that leaves you in that precarious position? Having said that they are bringing in a law I believe to prevent this (weak team selections) from keep happening. From memory I’m sure we’ve put out similar line ups throughout the season where we’ve been forced to play without Hegazi, Gibbs and Phillips so I don’t think we’re completely putting the stiffs out. Edwards, Harper and Field all have game time under their collective belt so it wouldn’t be that much of a shock to see them play.

To be be fair he’s improved and retained his Barnett.
It doesn't matter what he does we are not going to beat the villa over two legs forget it we will still be a championship club next season I'm afraid we should have tried to get third when top two was out of reach
The new law says at least 10 players who played in the previous match have to be involved in the squad so you can only rest so many.
