I saw John Illsley (the bass player) recently who was touring small clubs doing a 'Music & Q&A - The Life and Times of Dire Straits' It was a really good evening. He owns a pub near Leamington in the New Forest called The East End Arms which we stayed at for a night. I think Mark Knopflier is something to do with it also. Its in a small hamlet and several years ago the pub was going to close, it was put up for sale at £200K and we were told that John Illsley just agreed as soon as he heard to buy it as the village needed a pub. It's a nice quiet little get away with some interesting Dire Straits stuff on the wall. Anyhow..I digress....thanks for posting though
