Well, yes, there's a fair case to suggest that a less wealthy person suffering such an accident would have much less chance of surviving, let alone recovering.

Even so, I'm delighted to hear the news. I'm only a casual F1 follower but obviously the name and achievements of Michael Schumacher transcend the sport, and it was painfully ironic that after all those years risking life and limb at high speeds on the race track, he should sustain life threatening injuries in a skiing accident where I seem to recall he was trying to help someone else out of trouble.

Hope this is true, absolute legend, he's one of those sportsmen that we Brits loved to hate when he was in his prime and he earned our admiration and respect by being so damn good

Like Shane Warne in cricket or Diego Maradona in football. Sometimes, being the main target of 'opposition' fans is the highest compliment you can be paid.
