    Smudger ?

Whats happened to Michael Smith he looks no where near the same player he was
last season. He dosent look interested he got easily pushed off the ball several times
today and he just stood and made no atemp to win the ball back or track back.
Has he been refused a move been pissed off in some way or carring an injury.

He’s a player that needs a strictly defined role, ie up front, in the centre, holding up the ball.

Any other position or style and he’s a fish out of water.

I thought there were glimpses of his best play today but to be fair he doesn’t make a good sub.

Next transfer window and he could be moving on.

Several of us discussed this when he came on. Looks disinterested and couldn't be really bothered. Who can blame him though with the way he's been treated. Played out of position on the right when we all know he's a central player.

No or little game time so, how's he suppose to make an impact? My point to those listening, was that I wouldn't be surprised if he was to put transfer request in come December if he's not starting games. Thing is he is a good holding player for us and it would be a shame if he were to leave.

Morris is on loan and could be recalled in January, Vassell is never fit so, Smith should bide his time, he will get the games but not at the moment as he's not a natural goal scorer and it's goals that win games.

He was our best player last season in 4-5-1 formation that most fans hated.

4-4-2 could work for him but not when he’s subbing the only winger we’ve got on the pitch.

What’s the answer? Build the team around one of our better performers or continue in our new direction?

Due to our small squad and injury list many players are asked to play out of position or a role
that dose'nt suit them. Most get their head down and try to do their best for the team and play their
way in to a starting place in the favored position.Smiths attitude is disapointing especially after
the chance we gave him last season if it dosent improve let him go in January.

He certainly doesn't look interested, didn't put much effort in and was out-muscled a few times.
He had a decent chance but chose not to shoot and ended up losing the ball so all in all, not a very impressive performance.
If he's being mardy because he's no longer an automatic starter now there are other options then he needs to wake up, get real and fight for his place.
If he doesn't want to do that maybe he will be let go in January with Proctor being recalled from Scunny.

Threaten to send him back to Bury. That should wake him up.
