Great memories. We were regular visitors to Wembley in those days. I even spotted myself and my family in the crowd!

All good 2nd tier players, I honestly couldn't describe a single one of them as average. They weren't that far away from staying up in the top flight either, which is remarkable when you consider that most of them had been playing in the 3rd tier two seasons earlier.

Excellent team, loved watching them and the trips to Wembley. That was the Div 2 play off final though to go up to Div 1 before the Premier League was formed

How we could do with a keeper as solid as Steve Cherry these days.

My mate and myself used to sit what is now the Pavis stand and used to argue with some Neanderthals who blamed every goal against us on Steve Cherry. After one game, when we had cheered Cherry on, his wife, who had sat near us, thanked us for supporting her husband.

Reminds you of how lucky some of us are to have witnessed both the Sirrel and the Warnock years. Really feel for those young 'uns who have had to put up with the dilge that's been mostly on offer for the past 20 years.
