Fantastic drummer who could actually read music as indeed Jack Bruce on bass who was classically trained. But I am afraid Ginger was not a particularly nice person apparently. Still, sad as only Eric left now. Mind you how the hell Ginger lived to be as old as he did is a miracle because God only knows how much smack he got through and he must have been a forty a day fag smoker.

    Tremendous drummer.

Saw a documentary on him a couple of years ago......seemed a bit of a loose cannon 😆

Might have been the documentary I saw Mick. He rarely gave interviews I believe and was a recluse. I think he lived in South Africa up a mountain. The interview I saw he was a very difficult subject to interview, pretty aggressive and seemed as mad as a snake

Great drummer but a typical one; they all seem to have a streak of lunacy! Bonham was a nice bloke but had a very wild side and then, of course, there was Keith Moon..........! Possibly the three greatest rock drummers, all now gone.

Saw him live at the Burton Manor club in Stafford in the late fifties/ early sixties. The rest of the group walked of stage and left him to do a drum solo. It went on for about ten minutes. He changed his drum sticks several times and was bouncing them of the skins and catching them. Most young people then, new nothing about drugs, but he looked as if he was on something. His eyes being the giveaway.

As another poster has stated, amazing that he lived so long.
