    Calling all United stattos

Can anyone tell me the following home avg league game attendance for us in the following seasons:

    1982/83
    1995/96
    Last season
    Current season to date

Would be very interested if someone could enlighten me

    82/83 was just over 11,000

    95/96 was 7,200

Not sure last season for league games only, this season is 8,400 so far but we now count everyone including season tickets not in attendance so in reality is probably about a 1000 less (to join everyone else)... Which I don't like and wish everyone across the board didn't do but it is what it is

Our highest average is 12,830 in 1987/88 I think or was it 1988/89?? One of them anyway.

So, if we take that 'spurious' 1000 off this season's avg, we are currently more than matching the 95/96 avg. That's no' bad is it?

    Thanx for the stats shedka

It was 1988-89 Shedka our highest average. We had some big crowds that season. Pretty sure we had over 11,000 against Hamilton last game of the season. I've some notion that was free entry to that game though.

Ah but you're forgetting to deduct the thousands of freebies we give away every game, see some of the experts next door for real figures.

Exactly. This just giving tickets away does no favours. I say let's look at these BOGOF deals, particularly for top sellers like, say, the Derby. That's a real money earner right there.

You'd need to be pretty stupid to include derby matches in an offer like that...
