    and finally the penny drops.....

'"It's probably my mistake that I deal with the media too much in regard to my signings. I should keep my mouth shut''

Warne does go on to say, '"I'm not blaming you because it's your job to ask me those questions. But that's why it's hard for us managers to be completely candid because it can come back to bite you. I think it has bitten me a little bit on this occasion."

Don't worry Mr Warne, it's still a learning curve for you and hopefully you've learned something from all of this.

Well here's a thought....Why not be a little bit more intelligent with your answers?

We've had many a signing, some of them decent signings, where us fans had no idea that they were coming here.

Stop trying to be the media's friends as well as the players and you might find yourself to be a very good manager!!!!

Far better to be transparent than not communicate.

Anyway we don’t need another midfielder. We had Hastie and Lindsay on the bench yesterday.

What we need is another left back and a centre half.

Got to stop being too nice/everyone’s mate

From what I read (Interview what Warney states or media claim he did) he was certain Ward was signing for us

Imo Ward made him look stupid but I’m sure Warney learnt from that

    This week's Advertiser headline:

Paul Warne reports that he might or might not be thinking of signing or loaning players in January and confirms that if he is it will either be a goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, winger or centre forward.

In reading this the fans are reported to be 'Not happy'.

    He can't win can he.
If we haven't signed anyone by say the Wed after the Hull match and PW hasn't told us who his top targets are this messageboard is likely to go into meltdown.

Tony has lost interest and is about to sell up.......again.
His son was never interested in the club
Rob Scott is as bad as the previous Lord Lucan type character who lived in the South
PW doesn't know what he,s doing and we need someone else

Flour, I think if you read the interview again, you'll realise Warne himself admits he made a total c.ock up with Ward. No one is on to Warne, other than to say keep your trap shut on certain deals but, I think Warne has explained he's too open and has admitted so, which is a big weakness of his.

He's simply got to be like Mark Robins was, say nowt until the contracts are signed and exchanged. He could throw a few red herrings out there about players he has absolutely no interest in, to put the media off the scent, they'll soon get the drift when we don't pursue any of them.

You might be right about Richard Stewart not been interested with the club . Let's simply enjoy it all while Tony Stewart is still in charge.
