    Yes. We may be rivals. We may always wish the other team to lose. We may always crack a wry smile if the other team get hammered. I'd like to think we're human enough to understand that when one of our rivals fans sadly loses their life whilst watching a sport we all cherish that it's a sad time.

    A respectful doff of the cap is the right thing to do....

    Irrespective of which team he supports he's still a total stranger, do you always feel sad and respectful whenever you read of the death of someone you've never heard of, no matter who or where?

    Yes of course. I was taught to always respect, don't overtake a hearse (ok on a dual carriageway), give priority to funeral cars etc. I still keep to it today.
