Done it loads of times whilst walking some long distance trails. Penning Way, West Highland Way, Yorkshire Wolds Way.

The views where I've stayed at on the Cleveland Way couldn't be surpassed by any hotel in the world. Stunning.

Not sure if that's the same experience as sleeping out on the streets of somewhere like here in Seattle amongst the drug dealers/addicts, gangs, human traffickers, mentally ill, rats, excrement etc. Your experience I wouldn't mind, the one I describe is not so appealing.

Only in forces. What I hated in winter on the moors snow an wet and freezing.
We had two sets of gear.
Get in tent at night and put nice dry kit on to sleep.
Then in the icy morning , putting wet icy kit back on. I hate tenting 😊

People with learning difficulties can’t get a home to live in my dad (the derby fan) works in housing people who have no where he says many who are sleeping rough just don’t know what to do to get a home and if they do know how to do it they can’t understand the forums they need to fill in. However he pointed out that’s only about 30% the majority of homeless are druggys violent alcoholics etc (basically people who get kicked out of homes they are given (his words not mine)

But he also said to me a lot of these so called beggars are just there to make money for drugs and booze while on UC. He said watch this then he offered to buy a burger for one Of the beggars near New York way after a Rotherham game he said no thanks but can he have money my dad gave him 2.50 thinking he would get something later and we saw him get up and head to a pub up road
