Yes. Starship Trooper.
Radiohead. OK Computer.
Progressive Rock,a much maligned musical genre, often categorised as long-haired blokes showing off, which is only partly true.
But at it`s best it can take you to places most music can`t,at it`s worst it`s over-indulgent twaddle.
Anyway here`s 3 of my favourites,what`s yours ?
Genesis-Stagnation.
Any Peter Gabriel era album is class,so hard to pick one but this near 9 minute classic is one of the best, from the last album not to feature Phil Collins
All the best elements of Prog here, amazing playing from all the band, many different styles in one song and not a clue what it`s about !
All from a bunch of 22 year olds.
Pink Floyd-Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-5.
How do you pick one Floyd song ?
I`m not a huge fan of the Syd Barrett era,so apart from that and probably the last album, you cant go wrong really.
Simply the greatest Rock band of all time.
Steven Wilson-Ancestral.
Steven who ? .Sometimes called the biggest rock star in the world that no-one has heard of,but put simply the bloke is a genius.
He`s been making music since the late 80`s in bands such as Porcupine Tree(Also great),and has released 6 solo albums.
This track comes from his 2015 album Hand Cannot Erase,it`s nearly 14 minutes long and changes style about 5 times, from Pop to Heavy Metal, and most things inbetween, top stuff.
Yes. Starship Trooper.
Radiohead. OK Computer.
Rush - spirit of radio.
Sadly Neil Peart the drummer from Rush and the best drummer I’ve ever seen live died last week.
Saw Peter Gabriel era Genesis at Sheffield City Hall - very good. Didn't really bother with them after he left. There is a Genesis tribute band, Musical Box, that has the same view re choice of their material

Always thought that Uriah Jeep were very underated. Demons and Wizards is a fantastic piece of work. Hard to pick one tracking.
If never really considered Pink Floyd as prog, not since 'Dark side.. anyway. But if I had to pick an older track , 'Nile Song'.
Depends on the border between Prog Rock & Rock
If we're taking Floyd out of prog rock bracket then Suppers Ready from Genesis.
If not then Dark Side (which lets face it is just one long track) very closely followed by Echoes & Shine On as joint second
With special mention to Close to the Edge - Yes
