Augustin - real facts start to appear

JKA - only played 3 times in last 8 months - brilliant, just what the squad needed.
Again we sign a player seriously lacking fitness / match time, & with MB"s level, could be say 2-3 weeks plus, before he is considered Bielsa ready.
Not doubting JKA talent, but the striker we so badly need, should / must be match fit, ready to hit the ground running, now - another crazy, baffling decision.

This isn't "emerging". His full game appearances were all listed, as were his total number of minutes played/goals scored (not many, and 1). If he's flabby, its hardly surprising. This information (and the implications as to his fitness) were available to all, including our DoF. (And we took the entire transfer window to make this selection mind!).

The sad fact is we should have addressed this issue in the summer pre-season transfer window. Our board appear to be f*cking clueless at times.I mean you sell Roofe who gets you 15+ goals a season and then just don't bother replacing him, leaving it all to Bamford who in my opinion was never going to get the required amount of goals for us this season.

So now we have brought in a striker who has hardly played in the last 8 months and is seriously lacking match fitness and goals..to replace/compete with a player who looks shot of confidence and who looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights when in on goal.

I sincerely hope it works for all concerned.

The anger Bielsa showed as he answered the question suggests he is not happy at all with the acquisition. If that's true, and he's clearly not a yes man, you have to wonder why he's stayed so long when given so little of quality to use from the transfer market.

He's upped sticks at many other clubs over the way they haven't backed him - his answer today suggests he feels Leeds haven't given him what he needs, so what's different with us?

Hopefully he'll be rewarded for his loyalty - or we'll find out whether there's more to this than meets the eye.

I suspect it was he who was most influential in the summer, believing he could make last seasons squad better and by doing so compensate for the loss of Jansson and Roofe. For the first 10 - 12 matches it worked and so perhaps when the wheels started to come off he wasnt as direct with Radrizzani/Orta as he should have been, letting them procrastinate while the wheels really fell off, by which time it was too late and the likes of Bowen and others were gone.

His stubbornness might be a blessing in disguise, if he can work more miracles and create a silk purse from the sows ear he has now, proving everybody wrong, rather than walking. I guess that depends on how culpable he feels he is for where we are at now.

Yes all of that may well be true - i hope that we will find out the whole story in the 'Promotion 2020' DVD/download, available from the club store from June.

Dont think it will be to long before Augustin is making cameos from the bench. Ok he has only played 3 times in 8 months, but he will still of been training so will not be a million miles away from match fitness/sharpness.

If he comes good quickly, we potentially have ( as Biesla said) a €40 million striker in the side.

    Works for me.

Let's wait & see what he does on the pitch before making any rash judgements - hopefully he'll get 20 minutes Tomorrow & bag the winner
