    O/T favourite George Orwell work?

Re-reading a lot of his works recently. Especially his Political Essays.

Just wondering if there are any Orwell admirers on the site?

My favourite book is Animal Farm. It's observations can be put into any well formed organisation and you'll be able to pick out the characters

RE-reading!?!?! Didn't take any notice of any of it first time around then, judging by what you post on here. This has got to be biggest wind up of the lot

You're right Frogs: I think we could all put members' names to the characters Napoleon, Snowball and Old Major. One of our multi's perfectly fits both Squealer and Mr Whymper. There are other characters but I'm sure you get the g ist

Sorry IBS, can't comment. It gets frowned upon by the thought police when people reply to your posts.

I enjoyed all his work except Road to Wigan Pier which is one of only 2 books I didn’t finish reading. I suppose that fact that in all his books the main protagonist is an anti hero appeals as a life long Miller.

" The more society drifts from the truth "

" The more it will hate those who speak it "

    George Orwell

How very true that's turning out to be today .
